About Be Well and Brittney Butler
Raising a child in this day and age is a difficult task that can sometimes leave parents feeling defeated.
No matter how many parenting books you’ve read or how many other parents you’ve spoken to, sometimes you still feel at loss when it comes to problematic or confusing behaviors your child might be exhibiting. This could mean that your child might need some extra help navigating their thoughts, feelings, and emotions.
Young adults may be facing many other struggles. You may be experiencing stress or anxiety related to this phase in life: college, work, and peer relationships can be very trying and you may need support in these areas to help you navigate.
This is where therapy comes into play!
Hi, I am Brittney Butler, a licensed graduate social worker. I am trained to help children, adolescents, and young adults develop appropriate skills to work through their feelings and behaviors.
I use techniques such as play therapy, social-emotional learning, mind-body practices, cognitive behavioral therapy, and art therapy to create a fun, safe, and calming office space to ensure the best environment for optimal growth.
More about My Training
I received my bachelor’s degree in sociology with a minor in psychology from Shepherd University and my Master’s in social work through West Virginia University. For my internship experience, I worked with The Martinsburg Initiative and Berkeley County Schools as an intern social worker in the school system. I have work experience with Children’s Home Society where I was a children’s shelter social worker and then a family advocate for Safe Haven Child Advocacy Center. I also have work experience with Berkeley County Schools as a Communities in Schools site coordinator where I work with children to reduce the amount of problematic behaviors in the school environment.
