About Be Well and Colleen Kradel
Therapy is about talking through your problems, but that’s only the beginning.
When you develop a relationship with a caring, attuned therapist you will find new ways to solve problems, heal old wounds, and change the way you live your life.
Meet Colleen Kradel, Be Well Counseling Founder
I’ve been a therapist for the better part of two decades. Working as a counselor and supporting hundreds of clients over the years has been an immense privilege. I am so glad to call it my life’s work. And it’s only the beginning.
In 2009, I opened my private practice. Two years ago, I realized it was time to grow. The Martinsburg area needed more counseling options and I felt ready to invite associate therapists to begin to work with me.
Now, with a team of three other professionals who see adults, teens, children, and families both in the office and online, I am so proud of how we’re serving the local community and all of West Virginia.
My Mission: Create a Safe Space Where All People Can Grow
My personal and professional path has been greatly influenced by Brené Brown, the renowned researcher and best-selling author of books like Daring Greatly and Rising Strong. As a certified Daring Way facilitator, I incorporate Brené’s ideas into my work with individual clients, with groups, and as the leader of a group practice.
This is important in a workplace, in a counseling practice, and in society as a whole. It’s my goal to help individuals and families find a sense of safety and belonging in our office and inside themselves.
We’re dedicated to creating an open and inclusive organization that welcomes and reflects diversity of all kinds.
The Future Direction of My Work
As you can see on our page about Equine Facilitated Psychotherapy (EFP), horses are an important part of my individual, family, and professional story.
When I’m not seeing clients in the office, I am continuing my training and building relationships with the professionals in the equine community so we can make EFP accessible to our Be Well Counseling clients.
